The AMAC Kung Fu Personal Training Program

The AMAC Kung Fu program is a shaolin kung fu based study rooted in postures and motions designed to align the body and is taught through motions that strengthen and loosen to joints and ligaments. This changes the body and has a profound affect on health and performance. The training methods used build endurance and develop a greater mental control over the physical body, leading to a high degree of self-discipline. While early gong fu was considered to be medicinal gymnastics, its adaptability to self-defense leads it to be studied as a “fighting system”. The later styles reflect this as today it is known more for its “martial” focus, and many people seek out this aspect.

Learning postures, and adding motions to them teach gong Fu, then adding movements to that by changing postures. These “basics” may at anytime emphasize exercise (movement), strength, or self-defense application, depending on the expression used. Students then use these motions and apply it to a self-defense situation. These self-defense techniques are linked together in a “set”. These “sets” are again practiced, with an expression in mind, that is to say they are structured for health, strength or combat development.

Some systems of gong fu were developed entirely for fighting application like white eyebrow or praying mantis, others for exercise and sport like wu shu or may have a heavy health emphasis like tai chi. The AMAC gong fu program has a “fighting” style section known as wing chun.

Our program includes the practice of traditional weapons like staff, spear and sword, which of course are taught as a recreational or artistic study.

Lessons are taught in a personal training format with an individual or a small group. There are countless benefits to training with a personal trainer. People of any age and experience level can see better results and live a healthier lifestyle. A personal trainer will help create a unique workout plan to fit your individual needs and goals, and can accommodate an injury or other obstacle that might otherwise prevent you from training or exercising.
